Through the years, Spectrum Industries Inc. has been fortunate to receive a number of prestigious awards and honors for the work we have done. 2014 Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year

Spectrum Industries Inc. was proud to accept the Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Grand Award for the Medium Company Category on February 26, 2014. Spectrum was one of forty Wisconsin businesses nominated for manufacturing excellence. Companies were evaluated in areas such as financial growth or consistency, technological advances, product development, environmental solutions and sustainability, operational excellence/continuous improvement, commitment to employees, and effective research and development.

Spectrum President David See accepted the award with a simple statement, “We are honored to accept this award for all Spectrum employees,” a testament to the Spectrum goal to be the employer of choice in their area. As the company continues to grow and provide their surrounding area with excellent career opportunities, they remain committed to their entire team while never losing sight of the power of the individual.

Evergreen Award

Spectrum was the recipient of the U.S. General Services Administration Evergreen Award. This recognition highlights efforts in recycling, affirmative procurement, and waste reduction in furniture and furnishings.

The GSA recognized Spectrum as a “model facility in both their industry and community by implementing environmental sustainability initiatives that include waste prevention, material recovery and recycling, and environmentally conscious product design.”

Spectrum was awarded the Wisconsin Economic Development Association 2011 Biennial Economic Development Organization Award for Outstanding Achievement by a Business.

This award recognizes exceptional current contributions using creativity, leadership, effort, investment or other qualities that further broad-based economic development goals and objectives within the state.

Furniture Design and Manufacturing 300 Recognition

The FDM 300 is comprised of the 300 largest cabinet, furniture, millwork, store fixture, office/contract, and component producers in North America. Note the continual growth in our industry.

Spectrum achieved the prestigious SCS Indoor Advantage certification in 2010. Over the past five years, Spectrum has maintained and expanded this certification to include many new product lines. Most of Spectrum’s products are certificated to the prestigious Indoor Advantage Gold Level. 

Spectrum set out to attain third-party verification of our environmentally safe products. The SCS Indoor Advantage certification verifies compliance to stringent ANSI-BIFMA Furniture Emissions Standards. This certification also qualifies Spectrum for an increasing number of large construction projects that strictly adhere to the LEED point system. Moreover, indoor air quality certification proves that Spectrum products provide safer and healthier work environments for students, workers, and other product users.

ISO Certification requires a quality management system where an organization demonstrates its ability to consistently provide products that meet customer and applicable regulatory requirements, and aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable regulatory requirements.

ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is an independent, non-governmental membership organization and the world’s largest developer of voluntary international standards.

intertek-etl-listed  ETL Listed Device Carts

Certain carts that Spectrum has developed have been ETL Certified by Intertek to UL 60950-1 listing. This standard specifies requirements intended to reduce risks of fire, electric shock, or injury for the user who may use the equipment. It takes into account all the normal operating conditions of the equipment, but also looks at likely fault conditions, consequential faults, foreseeable misuse, and external influences such as temperature, altitude, pollution, and moisture. This standard also applies to components such as power supplies, power strips, and timers.

By taking actions in several areas of sustainability, Spectrum Industries has qualified for the Green Masters Program. The Green Masters Program is a recognition and assessment program for Wisconsin businesses interested in improving and being recognized for their sustainability initiatives. Their objective is to provide companies with a benchmark for themselves and the ability to compare their sustainability performance to other companies in their sector. The Green Masters Program seeks to advance Wisconsin businesses forward on their sustainability journeys to becoming better fiscal, environmental and social stewards through engagement, education, innovation, and recognition.
